Still your incredible P&O Cruises holiday; a few reassuring changes

Holidays are back and they’ve never been more deserved. At last you can dust off your suitcase, dig out your passport and set sail for adventure. To make sure you can relax into holiday-mode, we’ve developed new protocols to protect our guests and crew and worked hard to make these simple and easy to adjust to.

*Please note, entry requirements into the UK are subject to change. To ensure you are compliant with the UK Government’s guidance on re-entering the UK, please check the latest guidance here.

A-Z destination entry requirements guide

We’ve put together a new A-Z guide detailing the current requirements of each of the destinations we visit. Click here to see the guide.

Your holiday experience

Once on board, you’ll find everything that makes a P&O Cruises holiday… friendly service, I-want-it-all menus, pools and spas, buzzing atriums, theatres and live music, endless ocean views and swoon-worthy destinations waiting to be explored.

Eating and drinking

All of our restaurants and bars are open and we can’t wait to dazzle you with our tempting menus. From fine dining to a light lunch, stopping for ice cream or grabbing a slice of poolside pizza, cocktails on deck or a wine flight in The Glass House – there’s a world of variety on board. You’ll just need to pre-book or join a virtual queue while we prepare your table, or the buffet and deck grills accept walk-ins. You can dine with guests travelling in other cabins if you’d like but shared tables will only be available when requested, otherwise you will have a table to yourself.

Entertainment

One of the best things about a P&O Cruises holiday is the chance to be entertained around the clock. From theatre shows to live bands, you’ll find the show will go on! All of our entertainment venues will be open throughout your holiday and while you will need to pre-book some performances, we’ll have plenty of show times to ensure you don’t miss out. To protect the well-being of everyone on board, our performances will be adapted so that artistes and audience adhere to the latest guidance.

Seeing the sights on shore

You can explore our amazing destinations and relax and roam, knowing every measure has been taken to protect your health and well-being. We offer an incredible choice of shore experiences or you’re welcome to go ashore independently but must adhere to the specific COVID-19 protocols in each destination. As restrictions in each stop are changeable, and some destinations may only allow cruise line-organised experiences, we do highly recommend booking P&O Cruises shore experiences prior to your holiday to ensure you always have the option to explore each destination.

Activities and leisure

All your favourites – the on-board shops, spa, salon, gym, pools, casinos, activities and children’s clubs - are operating. Fancy a soothing spa treatment or a yoga class? A wander in the boutiques or a flutter in the casino? It’s all waiting for you. We have new measures in place to minimise contact, reduce the number of guests in each area and maintain the highest levels of cleanliness. Only activities or areas of the ship that would make social distancing difficult will not be in operation.

Your accommodation

Your cabin steward will maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of your accommodation to our enhanced standards although we do ask that you’re not in your cabin at the same time as the steward. We’ve also introduced an enhanced in-cabin television service which provides essential updates and an extended room service menu for you to enjoy as you relax in your cabin.

Sail away, your way and Celebration Night

In line with our new protocols, we’ve made a few changes to Sail Away parties and Gala Evenings. We like to celebrate as we set sail and whether you fancy live music or something more chilled, you can sail away, your way. You’ll find four different experiences to choose from – your chance to take in the lovely views and celebrate your holiday, your way. And every holiday will host at least one Gala Evening which has been renamed Celebration Night. You can prepare for a night of glitz and glamour, spectacular dining, entertainment and a complimentary drink to toast the occasion.

Families

There’s plenty for families on board our family friendly ships, from pools and gameshows, to our free children’s club, The Reef. To protect the health and safety for children aged 2-4 attending Splashers, we require one parent/guardian to supervise their child. Children aged 5+ and above will need to wear a face mask in The Reef and our teams will regularly encourage social distancing and hand washing. Unfortunately, the nursery and night nursery are not currently in operation.

Solo travellers

Solo travellers can enjoy delicious dining, world-class entertainment and adventures ashore. If you love to make friends while on board, we’re pleased to say guests travelling alone are welcome to join others for dining and all hosted activities such as workshops, dance classes and shore experiences.

Working with Bureau Veritas

In line with Chamber of Shipping guidance, Britannia, Iona and Ventura have achieved external validation of their health and well-being protocols from Bureau Veritas (BV), a world leader in testing, inspection and certification.
